I have been told that it is seen as “good luck” in some cultures for a bird to drop a bomb on your head. Personally, I think it is good luck when you win the lottery or someone buys you a sandwich. A free sandwich I want. A wet juicy bird turd I can live without! If you really think about it there is nothing lucky about a bird choosing your head as its toilet bowl. It’s like saying its good luck to get hit by lightning. Plain and simple; it’s just bad luck!
When I was in grade five I had the misfortune of being “lucky.” I was enjoying my lunch break with some friends playing on the playground when BOOM! I got hit. Dead smack in the middle of the top of my head! It was embarrassing, it was messy, and it was stinky!
Kids can be so cruel and children tend to create nick names for people as the result of these kinds of embarrassing situations. Luckily for me everyone already called me a “shit head” so I had nothing to worry about. My only worry at the time was how the heck do I clean this mess up? And why the heck did I run my hand through it?!
Good luck?! You know what IS good luck? Good luck is when you are sitting on the patio of a pub on a sunny day in Victoria, BC. Good luck is when you are on that patio and you are leaning slightly backwards tilting your head and your body towards the sun while waiting for a nice cold refreshing beer. Good luck is when a bird poops and because your body is slightly tilted the poop just misses you only to land right between your two feet. Now that, my friend, is good freaking luck!!
In conclusion. I like birds. I dislike poop.
